In this role, you'll:


Join our Engineering and Maintenance Asset Management branch that provides resources and expertise to support the organisation in implementing best practice management of Sydney Trains’ assets. Asset management is a critical function in providing innovative and structured techniques, systems, capability and governance to deliver transparent asset strategies.


Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, Asset Management this role will see you lead, manage and coordinate the development and implementation of whole of life asset strategies and Asset Management plans for all Sydney Trains’ Fixed and Rolling Stock assets, including Fleet, Plant and Work Trains.


This includes routine maintenance, major periodic maintenance and all Directorate Capital proposals to ensure the investment in maintenance of the assets is best optimised to provide value for money whilst achieving safe, reliable service outcomes.


You will lmanage a team of Asset Managers to lead and manage the Asset Management Strategies for all asset types including Civil, Track, Electrical, Signal, Control Systems and Technology assets, and lead the development of the 10-year long term Asset Maintenance Management Plans and funding strategy for the Maintenance Directorate of Sydney Trains’ Annual Works Program, with a recurrent budget of circa $1.4B.

About you


You’re a collaborative and talented people leader with extensive knowledge of Financial and Asset Management and impacts across the asset lifecycle.


You come from a high-risk industry with a strong understanding of engineering in a complex environment and the funding and risk complexities that come with this.


You have the ability to apply an analytical skill set to the Asset Management Strategies and cascade large scale medium to long term asset maintenance and capital works programs.


You demonstrate stakeholder engagement expertise, decisiveness, and drive to get things done. Your strong influencing and communication skills and proven experience in leading and developing technical teams in a complex operational environment with multiple asset types assets will prove beneficial to your success in this role.
