About the Team

TSS Data Management Team is part of a one of highly sought-after Data Practice within TFNSW’s Shared Services cluster. The team will be responsible for Implementing one of the most sought-after Data Strategy implementation project using state of the art Cloud Technologies with cutting edge tools and technologies.

The Role will be part of the team which is Comprises of seasonal Data practitioners in the field of Data Engineering, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence.



The Opportunity

In this role, the Data Engineer is responsible for delivering working and reliable data components, continuously developing and assessing the systems to keep abreast of new technologies and applying this knowledge to new and existing related systems across the Branch. The role supports data integrity and the development of new data capabilities for the Branch.


What you will be involved in;


  • Working with source system owners to ensure the highest possible data velocity from the source system to the data warehouse for operational and strategic business intelligence and value extraction
  • Design and implementation of ingestion, cleansing, transformation of heterogeneous sources of data and provision of integrated and enriched data
  • Ensuring the quality and integrity of current information data sets by initiating best practice methodologies, procedures, and business rules to ensure reliable and timely data delivery
  • Providing technical expertise to ensure adherence to data governance, data management, privacy, and security standards within the branch and TFNSW
  • Partnering with other groups within the branch to ensure data quality to source with data lineage
  • Working with data management team to ensure that raw data products are fully functional to support reporting & analytics
  • Coordinating with other teams for planning, design, governance, engineering and release management of processes and to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data and services

About you  


We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer with strong technical expertise in design and development of Data Warehouse. Highly experienced with ETL/ELT design and architecture and ability to create ELT processes using SSIS, Azure cloud native technologies and custom code development. Demonstrated understanding of Logical Data Models, Physical Data Models and Dimension Models. Ability to analyse system requirements and implement migration methods for existing data. Expert level knowledge of SQL in a variety of platforms and considering platform agnostic language (ANSI SQL) where appropriate. Desirable to have SAP & ServiceNow experience.  



Salary and Benefits   


The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 8 ($120,423 - $134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
