About the team

 

The Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division works together to deliver globally recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community including working towards zero fatalities on our roads and waterways, and net-zero emissions for Transport by 2056. SER develops and communicates evidence-based safety, environment and regulatory strategy for our people, customers and the community. Creates, delivers and maintains clear, outcome-focused frameworks, policies, standards and regulatory programs to enable consistent delivery and continuous improvement.

 

 

The opportunity

 

Reporting to the Director, Office of the Deputy Secretary of SER, the primary purpose of the role is to coordinate high-level business support services to ensure the efficient functioning of the SER Division. The role will also contribute to the management of all cross-functional issues affecting the group such as safety, financial and Human Resources management, business processes, reporting, strategic planning and organisational improvement.

 

As Senior Business Coordinator, you will be expected to:

  

  • Coordinate business planning processes for the Office of the Deputy Secretary, ensuring Divisional alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives.
  • Draft strategies and plans for approval by the Division/Branch to be translated into meaningful performance targets, as well as provide assurance and regular reporting for senior management.
  • Provide advice, technical expertise and operational support to the Unit and the Division’s main functions on a wide variety of business matters, including all HR, finance and procurement submissions.
  • Prepare complex correspondence, briefing notes and reports in relation to specific projects, initiatives and issues ensuring that submissions are accurate, timely and have appropriate signoffs.
  • Contribute to the sound financial management for the Division/Branch, including planning, budgeting, reporting and control.
  • Assist in the procurement process within the Division/Branch, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and providing strategic advice and assurance to the Executive Director on all procurement submissions.
  • Coordinate administrative functions, including office procedures, purchasing and records management and ensure compliance of the Division/Branch with corporate administrative policies and procedures.

About you

 

  • Experience working in an environment of constantly competing priorities while managing these priorities to enable completion of projects while delivering day to day tasks in the required timeframes.
  • Experience applying a high degree of understanding, analysis and judgement to ensure your manager is only involved in issues as necessary and that conversely, issues which require their attention are raised in a timely manner.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.

 

 

Salary and benefits
