The Opportunity

If yes, then we have the perfect opportunity for you as a Commercial Lead-BridgeClimb and Intellectual Property within the Customer Strategy and Technology branch at Transport for NSW. The Commercial Lead would be responsible for leading the management of the agreement between Transport for NSW and Felize Puente Pty Ltd (BridgeClimb) to improve commercial outcomes for the Division, ensuring the implementation of the Government objectives, the achievement of financial sustainability outcomes for the Division and the application of commercial frameworks and procedures across the Division. This also encompasses management of TfNSW Intellectual Property License Agreements as well the development of a commercialization pathway for other TfNSW IP.

 

The role would lead the planning, policy, delivery and advice of Bridge climb financial management reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, budgeting process and monitoring of agreed efficiency gains to optimise the financial capabilities of the unit in the delivery of business and community outcomes.


The main responsibilities would include:

• Provide specialist advice and support on commercial matters, contract negotiations, contract risk allocation, probity, cost benchmarking, revenue and pricing and reporting and value for money measurement to support the achievement of best practice commercial management

• Manage a team of professional staff, as required, including work allocation, capability development and performance management to manage, deliver and grow revenue contracts

• Manage the development and implementation of planning and strategy initiatives that identify, plan and manage growth opportunities for identified commercial opportunities to achieve optimal return on investment as they relate to the key areas of accountability

• Work with business leads across the Division to identify, scope and deliver programs that realise

opportunities to improve revenue outcomes across the Division, including developing revenue strategies and plans for Divisional operations

• Manage and deliver commercial projects as directed and participate in post implementation reviews to ensure benefits realisation and understand lessons to be learned

 

About You:

 

We are looking for a Commercial professional who has the ability to mentor and guide a team to ensure financial compliance and best practice financial management through the application and delivery of TfNSW financial management frameworks.. It has to be someone who has experience in continuing improvement and enhancement of financial and management reporting systems and procedures while coordinating with professionals across domains, levels and divisions, to maintain their finger on the pulse and with a proven ability to escalate whenever needed and report on the ongoing progress. You are a problem solver, self-driven, result oriented and focussed professional with the ability to collaborate, lead and influence whenever necessary, are open to working in a highly dynamic environment. You would work with business leads across the Division to identify, scope and deliver programs that realise opportunities to improve revenue outcomes across the Division, including developing revenue strategies and plans for Divisional operations

To be successful, you must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to forge and develop effective working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally. An ability to hit the ground running, quickly build relationships, and understand new concepts will therefore be essential. You should be able to persevere when faced with obstacles and comfortable addressing contentious issues and are self-driven.

Remuneration Package – Transport Grade 9 ($138,670 - $155,309), plus employers contribution to superannuation, plus annual leave loading

Essential requirements

• Significant experience in managing a range of commercial projects and activities effectively across a range of different functional areas

• Detailed knowledge and understanding of NSW Government Procurement policies and guidelines

• Ability to ensure the financial rigour of the business activities and drive cost efficiency and/or reduction. Experience in identifying and integrating the appropriate financial management strategies into business planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities would be a huge advantage.
