The opportunity

 

Right now, we have an opportunity available for a Senior Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join the Community and Place branch in the Eastern Harbour City.

 

This is a new role in a supportive team in the Inner West place-based team, which covers five local government areas, focusing on place-based community engagement with Country at the centre. This is a truly unique opportunity to be part of the development of your own position. The Officer will play a major role in managing planning and logistics for a quarterly online community forum, as well as manage a web based community portal that will be a one stop shop for the Inner West community to find out what Transport activities are happening in their region.

 

The role is responsible for the development and delivery of a wide range of place focussed stakeholder and community engagement strategies. 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Design and delivery of high-quality engagement and communications strategies.
  • Research, design and implementation of online and face-to-face engagement methods.
  • Measuring stakeholder engagement effectiveness and applying continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Supporting engagement activities such as presentations, forums and workshop facilitation.
  • Understanding community needs and aspirations, building and managing ongoing relationships.
  • Working flexibly based on engagement and communications activities/needs.

This is a Temporary Fixed Term role until June 2024.

 

About you

 

You thrive on building relationships and interacting with people both internal and external to the organisation and enjoy delivering exceptional customer experiences and outcomes

 

You will have a thorough knowledge of community’s and experience in developing and implementing community and stakeholder engagement strategies . You are confident in coordinating and facilitating events and forums.

 

The role will require an understanding of IAP2 practices and commitment to well planned, deliberate and accessible engagement opportunities.

 

 

Most importantly you are creative, think outside the box and look to bring a new perspective and ideas to the team. As you progress in the role there will be the opportunity to pick up new skills and develop your experience so a willingness to continually learn and embrace new working methodologies is a must.

 

The team work out of the Elizabeth Street office in Sydney CBD and this will be the home site for the role. Transport for NSW offers flexible working arrangements and supports a balance of office and work from home options.

Salary and Benefits

 

The salary for this position is Grade 8 – ($120,423 to $134,872) per annum plus superannuation.
