In this role, you'll:
Work as part of our Asset Scheduling and Delivery Coordination team within our Engineering and Maintenance branch of Sydney Trains focused on the planning and management of Track Closures (Track Possessions) for infrastructure maintenance.

Oversee internal and contract protection teams during the management of midweek possessions for these teams. Assist in the planning and compiling of the required information to coordinate the track closure and to manage the trains / timetables around the track access and the schedule work to be completed.

Ensure appropriate staffing, facilities and plant are in place to implement the annual Possession Program. You’ll also be responsible for entering and managing important information in PACT for train notices, track closures and other relevant documents, ensuring everything is safe for our workers and customers.

Mentor and support internal and external staff performing possession protection duties. You'll also undertake safeworking roles at times, such as Possession Protection Officer (PPO), Work Train Coordinator (WTC), or Possession Protection Coordinator (PPC) during possessions.

This is a permanent position, primarily located at Sydenham. The position is RC4 Grade. This role involves shift work, you'll be required to work on a 24/7 roster to support the delivery of track possessions throughout the week and weekend.

About you
Demonstrated experience working as a Possession Protection Officer, excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with all types of stakeholders will enable you to excel in this role.

Hold current certification Rail Infrastructure Worker Track Protection Officer Level 4 and a current NSW Driver’s License.

Hold current certification as a Hand-signaller Level 2 and Safeworking Level 1 and 2 or ability to obtain within 12 months.

This is a shift work role and requires working a 24/7 roster to support the delivery of track possessions throughout the week and weekend. As a Sydney Trains Possession Support Officer, you will need to be available to work within these parameters and effectively manage scheduled shifts. Also work at various locations including Redfern, Sydenham, Sutherland, Glenfield, Granville and Wollongong.
