The opportunity

We have an instrumental and rare opportunity for an Asset Interface Manager to interface between various stakeholder groups, including:

  • the Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) Network and Assets team,
  • NSW TrainLink (NSWTL) operational areas and corporate areas,
  • Sydney Trains and other maintenance service providers.


The role contributes to NSWTL fulfilling its obligations as an operator under Rail Safety National Law (RSNL). As an experienced manager, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders across the network to advocate on behalf of the business, focussing on the achievement of exceptional operational and safety outcomes The work is varied covering multiple disciplines and you will represent NSWTL at key meetings and forums relating to asset management and performance, contract and commercial management, maintenance and annual works programs, configuration management, and other relevant forums.


About you

We are looking for a seasoned manager who is accountable and considered to be a high performer with demonstrated experience in achieving this in a complex and dynamic environment. You take a big-picture approach to problem-solving and don’t shy away from having tough conversations or making difficult decisions in the interest of our customers, the people of NSW.


You are equally comfortable in either a team or autonomous work environment and will have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the application of asset management principles and practices. You have a wide technical knowledge and experience base as well as knowledge and understanding of railway operations related to the areas of rolling stock, facility and infrastructure assets.

Salary and Benefits

This role is a Transport Senior Service Manager (TSSM) with salary packages starting at $172K depending on experience.
