About the team

 

The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.

 

 

The opportunity

 

Right now, we have an opportunity for a highly influential and strong leader to join us as the Director Strategy & Product to provide leadership to a team of Product Owners and Insights Analysts. Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy & Engagement, key deliverables will be the implementation and leadership of product ownership in the delivery of technology products and services.

 

 

What you will be involved in

 

  • Driving product ownership direction for the branch, leading the vision, strategy, experience and implementation of digital products and services, champion that the customer is at the forefront of product decisions, development and delivery of products, using analytics and insights  

 

  • Lead a team of product owner specialists to ensure that overall customer strategies are being delivered by the Branch

 

  • Lead and inspire product direction within delivery teams and through agile framework processes to enable development and delivery of customer centric products and services

 

  • Lead the coaching, career development and performance management of the team, and support agile practices across the branch

 

  • Act as a thought leader, remaining abreast of current and emerging product management issues and trends

About you

 

This role requires a high degree of coordination, negotiation and collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders, so it is important that you bring a depth of relevant Product Management and Ownership experience, combined with strong influencing and negotiation skills.

 

As a seasoned leader, you will provide clear guidance and direction to your team and demonstrate the ability to make complex decisions in a rapidly changing, innovative and human-centred environment.

 

You will have experience working in an equivalent senior role within an Agile environment and be confident in leading the team in these practices.

 

Experience in transformation to scaled agile ways of working is also highly desirable. Your customer focus, collaborative and results driven approach will ensure your success in the role.
