Scheduler (Up to 11 Months Temporary Opportunity)

Organisation/Entity:  Transport For NSW
Job category:  Projects
Job location:

Sydney, NSW, AU, 2020

Job reference number:  102363
Employment type:  Fixed Term Full-Time
Salary range:  $137551.0-$154055.0

You can be part of the team that enables significant service improvements for our people.

You'll tackle challenges head-on, utilising your technical expertise to build sustainable, innovative, and resilient solutions from start to finish.

In this role, you'll:

Join a newly formed team that will contribute to the transition to zero-emission buses. In a hands-on, detail-driven role that supports big-picture goals.
Are you someone who thrives on keeping things moving and making sure the plan stays on track? As our Scheduler, you’ll be the engine behind the smooth flow of our bus fleet programs.
You’ll manage and maintain detailed schedules (think Gantt charts and spreadsheets) to ensure buses are repaired, transferred, and delivered on time whether it’s coordinating with suppliers or tracking movements with the operator across NSW.
You’ll be the go-to person for making sure what’s been agreed with our partners is actually happening. If a bus isn’t where it should be, you’ll figure out why and how to fix it.
You’ll report on the status of the fleet and help identify what’s needed to get things moving again, whether it’s parts, equipment, or internal resources.
You’ll work closely with the engineering team and your manager, providing updates and insights that help drive decisions and keep the program on track.

About you

You’re someone who loves the nuts and bolts of scheduling and thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment. You’re not just about timelines you’re about making things happen.
You’ve got solid experience in scheduling, ideally within fleet, transport, or technical programs (plant, equipment, or mechanical repairs).
You’re confident using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, and you know how to build and maintain schedules that keep everything running smoothly.
You understand how to track milestones, identify risks, and provide clear, actionable reports that help teams stay aligned.
You’re a problem-solver who can work across teams and with external suppliers to keep things moving even when challenges arise.
