Sydney Trains is currently accepting applications for its 2021 Apprenticeship Program.


What we offer


Our Apprenticeship Program is a four year program (three years for Telecommunications) that combines paid work and structured training, allowing you to learn a trade and receive a nationally accredited qualification while working.


We are currently recruiting apprentices for the following trades:


  • Telecommunications
  • Signal Fitting
  • Signal Electrical 
  • Substations 
  • Rail Traction
  • Plant Mechanic
  • HV Cables

The important stuff:


  • A competitive salary package including pay rate starting at $607.50 per week or $923.45 per week for adult apprentices (over 21) plus applicable allowances, employer’s superannuation contribution and annual leave loading.
  • A structured training program from which you will gain a nationally recognised qualification and potential for a career
  • Free unlimited travel on all Trains, Buses, Ferries LightRail within the Opal network
  • Rostered 5 weeks Annual Leave


Travel requirements: This role requires shift work and overnight travel to depots and work sites as far as Hamilton, Lawson, Wollongong and across the Sydney Metropolitan area.
