Senior Geotechnical Engineer

In this role, you'll:

• Provide expert geotechnical engineering guidance to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.

• Conduct in-depth technical investigations and generate comprehensive reports to support data-driven decision-making.

• Lead asset integrity initiatives, including performance assessments, compliance audits, and risk mitigation strategies.

• Drive geotechnical projects from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with time, budget, quality, and safety benchmarks.

• Oversee construction progress, ensuring adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and quality assurance protocols.

• Leverage emerging technologies such as drone photogrammetry to enhance operational efficiency and problem-solving.

• Develop, implement, and refine engineering standards, policies, and best practices to optimize asset lifecycle management.

About you

• Extensive experience in a similar role within the public or private sector, ideally with knowledge of rail infrastructure and operations.

• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, conduct advanced geotechnical investigations, and deliver data-driven solutions.

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, preferably a Master’s degree, with eligibility for Engineers Australia membership.

• Extensive experience (5–6 years) in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.

• Strong expertise in geotechnical numerical analysis, risk assessment, and hazard management of rock cuttings and embankments.

• Hands-on experience in site investigations, soil testing, and preparing comprehensive geotechnical reports.

• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements in geotechnical and rail engineering.
