About the team

 

Business Operations supports frontline teams of the Network Maintenance Division (NMD), so they can maximise their focus on delivering quality maintenance on a day-to-day basis.

 

Business Operations is comprised of highly skilled staff in the areas of business development and reporting, workforce planning, reliability engineering, project delivery and business interface change management.

 

The opportunity

 

Right now, we have an opportunity available for a Senior Manager Reliability & Network Performance to join the Network Maintenance Division.

 

Reporting to the Associate Director Business Operations, this role will see you lead a specialist team of Reliability Engineers to support reliability initiatives throughout the Network Maintenance Division. This role monitors, analyses and provides recommendations on how rail assets perform against the required specifications and performance requirements. Providing reliability engineering governance across all engineering disciplines through and engagement framework to ensure the consistency and robustness of the Reliability Engineering solutions and asset performance.

 

This is a key Engineering leadership role focused on building a roadmap that defines our reliability strategy ensuring it delivers tangible outcomes. 

 

This is a 2 year fixed term opportunity.

 

What you will be involved in:

 

  • Providing detailed and timely analysis to NMD Executive Team on network performance
  • Develop reliability strategies, initiatives and projects to ensure that rail assets perform to specifications and meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Act as the SME on Reliability Engineering to ensure the business is provided with expertise, technical service and advice to effectively support strategies
  • To ensure the business has access to timely and accurate data on asset performance and the status of corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to a small team of skilled reliability engineers.

About you 

 

You will have significant experience in successfully managing a Reliability Engineering function in a complex, customer centric environment. In addition to technical knowledge and expertise, you will be highly solutions-focused continually seeking ways to drive asset, systems and process improvement.

 

You will have demonstrated negotiation and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present findings to a variety of stakeholders at all levels. Experience leading teams in a complex multi-stakeholder environment will be critical to your success.
