The opportunity


We are looking for two experienced Senior Site Managers with a vast background in Bridge/Structural projects to join our Major Works team and work on iconic infrastructure projects such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge Deck Upgrade! These positions form a key part of our Major Works team within Sydney Trains and will be overseeing a range of critical bridge works.


As a Senior Site Manager you will be tasked to plan complex construction works in the rail corridor.


You will manage and control construction works and the associated worksites, acting as the Sydney Trains delegated Principal Contractor representative. You will put safety at the heart of all your decision making and implement a risk based approach to all projects, using controls and systems to ensure consistency across all worksites, work teams and sub-contractors.


About you


We are looking for Senior Site Managers who are highly experienced within the construction industry preferably from a rail environment, having worked on bridge or structural projects. Substantive experience in the supervision of construction works with a proven ability to lead work teams is also a must!


You’re someone who has a proven track record in successfully leading work teams and/or contractors and has a proactive can-do attitude with impeccable communication skills. You’re able to gain cooperation of your peers and stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will be results orientated, focused on delivering high standards of work safely while maintaining good time management. You will have a passion to lead by example and are comfortable making important decisions in line with legislation and have good computer skills. You will also have substantial experience in the implementation of site safety management requirements for construction works.

Please note: This position does involve extensive shift work, weekend work and overtime. Successful candidates are to be in possession of a current Class C drivers licence and will be required to undertake background checks and criminal record checks. Travel within the Sydney Region will be required depending on the project you will be working on.
