Site Manager (12 month temporary opportunity)
Auburn, NSW, AU, 2144
You may have been part of some big projects before, but this work is legacy-building.
You've been developing your skills and are ready to work on projects that matter to the people of NSW. You know that quality matters and that delivering results requires a great team.
In this role, you'll:
Take full ownership of construction sites in high-risk rail environments. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Safety teams, you’ll oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of works, ensuring all activities are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role with strong team camaraderie and collaboration. You’ll interface with external stakeholders, including contractors, regulatory bodies, and project partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the Principal Contractor Representative, as delegated by the Project Manager.
- Managing site interfaces with other workgroups, contractors, and infrastructure projects.
- Leading the safe and efficient delivery of construction works, including procurement of labour, plant, and materials.
- Providing practical, technical, and safety advice on construction methodologies.
- Reporting on work progress, safety, and site conditions to project stakeholders.
- Supporting a strong safety culture and managing risks in dynamic work environments.
This is a predominantly site- and office-based role. Please note, the role may require travel and extended periods away from home, depending on project needs.
This is a temporary full-time opportunity for up to 12 months.

About you
Your previous experience as a Construction Manager or Site Manager equips you with the capability to lead teams, manage complex risks, and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders in high-risk environments.
You bring solid knowledge of plant and equipment, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings to ensure safe and efficient project delivery. With a strong track record in managing multi-disciplinary construction projects - ideally within a rail setting – you’re confident in overseeing all aspects of site activity. Experience in signals or electrical works would be highly regarded.
Your ability to identify issues, think analytically, and implement practical solutions ensures progress remains on track. Strong interpersonal and communication skills support your collaborative approach.
A current and valid NSW Class C driver’s licence is essential, as the role involves regular travel and site attendance across the network.
