In this role, you'll:

Undertake labouring and manual handling tasks for a variety of bridges and culverts across the district at a sub-trade level. The role undertakes a range of functions relating to maintaining timber, steel and concrete bridges, including assisting other trades.

 

 You will also:

  • Under limited supervision, perform routine and complex labouring/ manual tasks
  • Safely operate a range of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools.
  • Solve routine problems that arise, referring to standard guidelines and manuals, and collaborate with supervisors to resolve complex problems to minimise risks and achieve work goals
  • Participate in team meetings, planning and activities to support continuous improvement and the achievement of work goals.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to acquire new skills in plant operations, formwork, falsework, concreting, truck driving to further your industry experience.

We are seeking those that reside within 100 km from the depot at West Ballina.

 

This position will require regular work away from home throughout the year.

 

 

About you:

You’re a resilient and proactive labourer who has previous experience pouring concrete, painting, and bridge maintenance. You’re willing to try your hand at anything to gain new skills and grow in a team environment.

 

You’ll hold a:

  • White Card
  • Valid and current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence 

You will have experience operating small plant, hand tools and power tools with a keen interest to learn on the job as well. We provide opportunities for training, and you will be willing to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.

 

Most importantly, you understand the extreme importance of work health and safety, and you do what it takes to get the job done as safe as possible for yourself and your crew.

 

High risk work tickets and Medium Rigid Licence are desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
