You’re looking to embed yourself in projects of different sizes and become part of a team that’s shaping the landscape across NSW.

In this role, you'll:
• Work as part of the Northern Bridges Team, responsible for developing and delivering bridge maintenance projects across northeastern NSW. You will establish a pipeline of work for a number of direct control bridge crews as well as scheduling and managing contractor works.
• Be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, providing engineering support from the development phase all the way through to delivery completion and handover.
• Manage the cost estimates, procuring and overseeing of service providers, suppliers and consultants as well as monitoring and reviewing an ongoing work program.
• Be required to travel across the region, inspecting current works and maintaining a high level of WH&S, environmental management and quality on projects.
• Demonstrate the five ways of leading behaviours to deliver organisational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities for the greater good.

About you
• You will be able to effectively problem-solve and communicate with internal and external stakeholders including contractors to deliver timely outcomes on task requirements.
• You are a natural multitasker able to prioritise workloads, manage risk and deliver project outcomes.
• You have a real passion for bridge maintenance and construction.
• You have experience and an understanding of Environmental Assessments.
• You enjoy collaboration, can seek advice to resolve issues and discuss projects with direct controlled workforce.
• Experience in the preparation of estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs and WH&S management plans, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans.
• Experience in managing a direct control workforce to successfully undertake bridge construction and maintenance projects.
• Working within the bridge space, it would be beneficial if you have previous bridge construction experience, ideally working with TfNSW Specifications.
• You hold a four-year civil engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification.
• Have a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and be willing to travel and work outside normal working hours.
The salary for this position is Project Engineer Level 1-2. ($102,477 - $135,857) This is a permanent opportunity based out of Ballina, NSW. This role is a hybrid opportunity, however, due to the collaborative nature and required level of project support you will provide to onsite teams, 3 office/site days per week will be preferred.
