About the team

 

Customer Operations brings together Customer Service and Operations Delivery and has been created as part of the Sydney Trains Transformation Program. Integrating the two areas will enhance collaboration and ensure that we work seamlessly to deliver memorable customer journeys each and every day, both now and into the future. Service experience’s purpose is to ensure every customer receives helpful, efficient and caring service, across the station network and transfer points Service Experience puts the customer at the centre of service delivery.

 

 

The opportunity

 

Customer Operations are currently looking to fill Cleaner in Charge (CIC) positions at Central Station, Blacktown, Hornsby and Emu Plains however a Talent Pool will be created to cover other vacancies that may arise winthin Metroplolitan Sydney. Working within Customer Operations, you will be responsible for providing consistent and high-quality cleaning services at Sydney Trains stations and trains. In conjunction with providing front line assistance to your Area Manager, the CIC actively engages the team to develop a strong team-based work culture with the aim of improving cleanliness and customer satisfaction.

 

 

What you will be involved in 

 

  • Ensure that employees are competent and confident to perform their role through coaching and guidance to maintain high standards of performance
  • Leading by example including high quality cleaning services within a customer environment
  • You will operate on a 24 hour, 7 days rotating roster in where you will manage and perform cleaning duties
  • Coordination and allocation of your teams cleaning responsibilities including resource allocation and ensuring task completion
  • Provide ongoing support and coordination to the Customer Area Manager to resolve any cleaning issues
  • Provide onsite induction for Contractors wherever applicable
  • Actively promote safety and focus on continuous improvement initiatives

About you

 

You are a dedicated Cleaner in Charge who wants to be a key part of a high performing cleaning team. You will ideally have demonstrated experience in leading a team including providing hands on assistance to staff along with the below mentioned skills: 

  • A level of exposure to cleaning will be greatly beneficial but not mandatory. Full training is provided
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff and priorities in a multi-cultural work team
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated capacity to operate in a team-working situation within an environment of competing priorities, frequent change, and procedural reform.
  • Computer literate with experience using mobile technology such as mobile devices.
  • A strong communicator with an ability to have difficult communication

 

 

Salary and benefits

 

The salary for this position is $1,145.80 per week plus superannuation and leave loading.
