In this role, you'll:
Join our Maintenance and Delivery Central West District team as a Works Supervisor, where you will lead a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of road, maintenance and construction works to ensure delivery in accordance with time, quality and scope requirements.
You will be involved in:
- Supervising, planning and coordinating major and minor contracts including managing and allocating project resources to ensure agreed time, cost, quality, safety and environmental targets are met.
- Reviewing work processes and procedures including reporting mechanisms and implementing improvements to support the administration of the section's work and contracts.
- Developing and managing the performance of diverse groups of staff by providing performance feedback, identifying skills gaps, preparing team and individual development plans.
- Conducting risk assessments, facilitating and reviewing safe work method statements, conducting toolbox talks and site inductions and investigating incidents and non-conformance to ensure quality, safety, and environmental systems are complied.
This is a permanent, full-time on-site position, which can be located at our Orange, Lithgow or Bathurst depots. Please note that the successful candidate is required to reside within one hour’s driving distance from one of these locations or be willing to relocate.
This exciting role offers excellent conditions and benefits. You will work a 38-hour week, and additional entitlements such as penalty rates for reasonable overtime, shift work and meal allowances may apply in accordance with the relevant award, including:

About you
You are a driven individual with broad construction experience looking for an opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure projects, while making a real difference and advancing your career through professional development and training.
You will have extensive road construction and maintenance experience, and in leading a team of construction staff, contractors and subcontractors on site. Your proven interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will see you develop lasting relationships with your team and other stakeholders. Your collaborative mindset, enthusiasm and great communication skills allow you to manage staff effectively, while your time management and organisational skills will allow you to stay in control in a dynamic environment.
You have proven ability to source, analyse, interpret and contribute to project, construction and contract documentation, as well as experience best-practice record keeping and document management in a construction or maintenance environment. You will ideally hold qualifications in frontline leadership and/or Civil Construction and hold relevant licenses/ tickets such as Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan (PWZTMP) and a current Construction Industry White Card.
This role will involve working on site at various projects and therefore you must possess a current motor vehicle driver’s licence and be available to attend after hour’s emergency callouts / work outside normal working hours when required.
