About the team


The Centre for Property Acquisition (CPA) is a centre of excellence, established to ensure a customer-focussed, best practice approach to property acquisition is undertaken consistently across NSW. Included in the remit of the CPA are improving the quality and consistency of property acquisition experiences through advocating new policy directions, through improving the capability of Acquisition Authorities, through promotion of increased understanding and transparency around the acquisition process, through offering a point of escalation for customers, and acting as the voice of the customer within government.


The opportunity


We have an exciting opportunity for the Senior Advisor Training and Capability, reporting to the Manager, Training and Capability, Centre for Property Acquisition, you will be involved in coordinating the design, development and implementation of Centre for Property Acquisition (CPA) training and capability building strategies, standards and programs for practitioners involved in the property acquisition process, including the development and maintenance of supporting training guidelines, procedures and accreditation frameworks.


Key priorities/ deliverables


This will involve:


  • Manage the design, development and implementation of the CPA training and workforce development strategies and associated action plans.
  • Ensure all practitioners involved in the acquisition process have the right training and capability building plans to drive greater effectiveness, consistency and resident focus across whole-of-government property acquisition activities.
  • Manage the engagement of cross-functional teams and community practices (internally and externally) in the design and/or delivery of training strategies that allow for mobility and scale, as required to meet changing business needs.
  • Monitor and report against the CPA training strategy and accreditation frameworks to ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements, and identify areas for improvement and/or suitability of deliverables.
  • Manage and engage suitable resources (external stakeholders) to ensure the provision of high-quality delivery of learning programs within the agreed quality assurance framework, time-frames and budgets.
  • Manage the provision of ongoing reporting requirements to ensure compliance requirements are met and to ensure proper management of priorities.
  • Demonstrate the five ways of leading behaviours to deliver organisational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities for the greater good

About you


  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of the NSW Public Sector Capability Framework (“Capability Framework”) to support the full range of workforce management and development activities.
  • Must have sound knowledge of Document Management Systems functionality.
  • Highly organised, with proven coordination and project management abilities.
  • Experience in design and delivery of training programs and associated courseware.
  • Analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and present findings in a concise and meaningful way


Salary and Benefits


The salary for this position is Grade 8 ($120,423 - $134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
