In this role, you'll:
You will oversee the creation and delivery of real-time information on the Transport Management Centre’s social media channels to support people travelling during disruptions on roads and public transport and will develop strategies to increase public awareness of incidents, events and build community engagement.

You will be working as part of a highly motivated communications team located in our TfNSW Customer Journey Management team. This front-line strategic role supports the creative dissemination of real time information relating to unplanned incidents, planned events and road occupancies. This role will see you make a statewide impact by creating relevant and rich content that communicates to our users in real time traffic events such as disruptions in buses, all of traffic and transport via multiple media such as Facebook, and other channels.

About you
You are ready for a dynamic new challenge where you can make a real difference to our wider community. You enjoy the strategic side of creative media reporting and working collaboratively as you will have two social media officers as direct reports. You are known as someone who can publish accurate and effective social media content in a time critical environment. You have a sound knowledge and understanding of social media trends and issues, best practice processes and emerging technologies. The job is fast paced, operationally focussed and the candidate should be confident in using Sprout, Facebook, Canva and X. Reporting, people leadership and strategic goal setting are important to the success of this candidate.

Please note- this team is currently working in a hybrid way in Sydney between our Transport Management Centre (Eveleigh), Emergency Transport Management Centre (Auburn) and working from home. In line with support of flexible working arrangements, the successful candidate must be willing to work outside regular working hours as required. This is a temporary fixed term role until 13 February 2026. The salary for this position is a Transport Grade 8 ($137,551-$154,055)  per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
