In this role, you'll:


Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration systems on the Sydney Trains and NSW Trains fleet. You will ensure fleet reliability, availability, and compliance with engineering standards by carrying out technical maintenance, investigating faults, and certifying maintenance work in a dynamic and safety-focused environment.

About you


Your expertise in air conditioning and refrigeration systems, developed across mechanical and electrical maintenance environments, will see you effectively diagnose and repair faults, optimise system performance, and contribute to fleet reliability.


You have:
• A qualification in an electrical and/or mechanical trade (or equivalent).
• A Supervisors Certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration competency/qualification relevant to a maintenance environment.
• Proven experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems, ideally in a rolling stock or industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose faults and implement solutions effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across multiple levels.
• The ability to work independently and make quick decisions to ensure train performance, availability, and reliability.
