In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a team delivering high-quality manufacturing, refurbishment, and prototype development within the Rail Equipment Centre's Mechanical section to meet production goals and customer satisfaction.

Oversee a skilled mechanical team, managing production and refurbishment orders to ensure they’re completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards, aligning with key business objectives.

Lead and optimise production processes, focusing on quality, efficiency, and safety in a fast-paced rail engineering environment, where accuracy and compliance with rail safety standards are essential.

This is a permanent full-time position, located on-site at Homebush.

About you

  • You hold a relevant trade qualification and have in-depth knowledge and experience in running conventional and NC/CNC machines and quality systems, enabling you to achieve high standards in product quality and on-time delivery.
  • You have demonstrated experience safely leading teams of employees to meet deadlines and quality standards, within an engineering environment. You’re also experienced in interpreting Engineering drawings, conducting inspections, services, maintenance, component changes and repairs to mechanical equipment.
  • You’re recognised as a proactive problem-solver, skilled at meeting deadlines and production targets, with hands-on experience in production planning, capacity planning and material fulfilment in SAP or similar systems.
  • Your commitment to quality and safety, coupled with effective communication skills, enables you to maintain excellence in delivering critical rail equipment and components to exceed customer expectations.
