In this role, you'll:
Inspect, service, overhaul and repair systems, equipment and components on passenger trains to contribute to the reliability and availability levels for Sydney Trains passenger fleet.
Focus on attending to defective passenger cars at the service centre, analysing problems and taking actions to allow trains to remain in or return to service. This includes Customer Service Tasks to facilitate efficient working and minimise disruption to services.
Carry out inspections, service, maintenance, overhaul, problem analysis, fault finding, repairs, modification and upgrades to components changes and functional testing to equipment and components on passenger trains.
Report directly to the Maintenance Shift Managers & Team Leaders, working in a team consisting of Rail Maintainers and Engineering support staff.
Willing to be trained so that they can operate plant equipment
These are shift-based roles in a 24/7 environment, you will work as part of a team to support our network and as such will be required to work night shift, weekend work and overtime.
The advertised pay rate does not reflect / include penalties and allowances incurred with a 24/7 rotating shift roster.

About you
You’re a team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
You can work alone or can effectively collaborate with others to problem solve and get the job done.
You may have experience in a similar field or a trade background, however on the job training is provided.
Fitting trade qualified with a certificate of proficiency with a preferred qualification in Electrical Disconnect / Reconnect.
