In this role:
 
As part of the Communication & Workplaces enabling division, you will report to the Executive Director People & Culture (P&C) Transport for NSW and be an integral part of our newly established Branch Leadership Team. In this critical role you will ensure we build partnerships and relationships with the Deputy Secretary and the divisional leadership team to provide counsel and advice on people and workforce matters that support the achievement of divisional goals.  Your objective will be to develop and implement strategic P&C outcomes, aligned to the needs of the division and directing the function to deliver agreed results.  
 
You will create a culture that puts customer at the centre, people at the heart and works together for the greater good. You and your team will have a clear understanding of what is to be delivered, have the necessary skills and experience to deliver superior people and workforce solutions whilst demonstrating appropriate behaviours. As such, you will partner to develop plans that prepare for future workforce requirements, unlocks the potential of our leaders and people through skills and capability development, ensures reporting obligations, compliance and people risk management requirements and creates workplaces with greater flexibility and collaboration. 
 
You will provide high quality strategic and tactical advice  and direct the efficient and effective delivery of workforce solutions and services. You will bring significant focus to develop workforce strategy, workforce plans, resource management, workforce capability, development and competency for the division you support. You will be an advocate for the organisational workforce requirements, ensure that divisional people strategies are met and the divisional leadership team are well informed to make decisions about their people and workforce

About you  
 
You are a tertiary qualified human resources professional looking for an opportunity to apply your experiences to build and deliver a value add people and culture function.

  • are a strategic thinker and outcomes focused.

 

  • understand how to get things done in a government setting.

 

  • bring experience as a HR strategic adviser to an executive team.

 

  • have strong experience building a team and growing team maturity and capability.

 

  • have demonstrated experience in change management and uplifting organisational capability.

 

  • bring strong experience and understanding of industrial relations.

 

  • possess a strong understanding of the unions, political landscape and industrial implications and understand how to build, shape, and solve to achieve outcomes.

 

  • bring experience developing a strategic workforce plan.

 

  • will possess strong commercial acumen and have experience designing and implementing business strategies, plans, and programs to drive people transformation.

 

  • have strong experience dealing with executive stakeholders and the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and types of audiences.
