About the team


Transport for NSW IT Group provides the networks, cloud platforms, applications, and end-user computing that enables our 30,000 employees to deliver a smart and efficient transport network for the people of NSW. The Corporate IT team is responsible for delivering end-to-end services of a very large application portfolio that is consumed by internal Clients and external Customers.  



The opportunity


Right now, we have an opportunity for a Director Product Technology who is responsible for managing the SAP platform and the associated Eco system.


Reporting to the Director, Product Delivery and Management, Corporate IT Portfolio, the role is a key contributor to a very dynamic leadership team.


You will be responsible for leading and driving day-to-day delivery of IT services and programs and for service assurance, performance, availability, support, maintenance, and operational risk management.


You will also ensure alignment of operational frameworks, standards and processes based on industry-leading practices and achieves optimal outcomes for the organisation’s strategic operational and business requirements delivering high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.


You will play a key leadership role providing direction and oversight for a major SAP S/4HANA systems change. 


In this role you will:


  • Provide high level direction for ICT services and program planning for the branch, including driving the development of high-level capability and technology architecture and roadmaps, business plans and delivery plans to support business objectives.
  • Build and develop collaborative working relationships across the Transport Cluster and be a trusted advisor to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for maintaining high availability of the SAP Platform and end-to-end delivery of programs and projects, including deployment of new/enhanced capabilities and IT assets maintenance plan to ensure long term sustainability.
  • Lead innovation and evolution with new ways of working - use of Agile, DevOps, rapid solution delivery methods.

About You


You are an experienced, customer centric senior IT leader with strong SAP expertise in the core SAP platform and the whole Eco system including Integration, Security, Mobility, Document Management (OpenText).


You will have proven experience leading and managing large-scale SAP environments and delivery of major programs and change.


You have exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills and proven experience negotiating and working in a large, complex matrix organisation, managing a diverse mix of Government, technology, and commercial stakeholders.


You thrive on leading teams of multi-disciplinary specialists and facilitating their ongoing professional development, maximising individual performance to deliver diverse and complex operational and solution delivery services.
