About the team

 

The Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division leads policy, strategy, standards, advice and support across safety, environment, sustainability, asset management and regulatory outcomes for customers, community and our people (including contractors).  SER provides ‘centres of excellence’ with a critical mass of expertise to support line accountability, facilitate consistency and provide assurance across the transport. It also delivers a range of regulatory programs, across transport. It also delivers a range of regulatory programs.

 

 

The opportunity

 

The Western Parkland, Integrated Precincts and Urban Renewal team within the Environment & Sustainability branch is responsible for providing environment and sustainability advice and support to programs and projects delivering infrastructure across the Western Sydney regions.  Reporting to the Senior Manager, Environment and Sustainability of Asset Operations team you’ll provide technical advice and expertise to our project teams, construction partners and the community. Key projects that you will be working on include the M12 Motorway and the M7 Motorway.

 

Fixed Term Contract to 30.7.23 working in the Asset Operations Team across Minor projects you will enjoy learning, adding value in a team of 7 reporting to the Senior Manager, Environment & Sustainability.

 

In this role, you’ll work with multi-disciplinary teams providing environmental management, planning and sustainability advice and support to ensure that requirements are effectively communicated and complied with, risks and issues are identified and managed, and outcomes achieved. You will work collaboratively to ensure all environment and sustainability obligations are met, undertake assurance activities including inspections and reporting. You will manage several direct reports.

About you

 

You’ll have proven experience in applying knowledge of environmental legislation, policy and procedures and can demonstrate strong Environmental Systems Compliance Management. Competent skills in Excel, Microsoft and Teams is required. This is a targeted role to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who identify as such.

With a relevant tertiary qualification in environmental management, sustainability management and practice, planning, engineering a related discipline or previous experience. You will need experience in gathering Environment data, analysis and have the ability to prioritise your work under pressure.

 

 

Salary and Benefits
