About Group Finance and Investment

 

Group Finance and Investment (GFI) is a trusted advisor to the Transport cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $71.5 billion infrastructure program.

 

We provide best in class financial services to support decision-making on transport services, infrastructure investment and delivery. GFI plays a critical role in project planning and funding, enterprise planning and financial management and control.

The opportunity

 

We have a newly-created Governance Manager role, reporting into the Senior Manager Financial Governance.

 

The Financial Governance team is responsible for leading the design, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of best practice enterprise-wide financial management and investment governance framework aligned with Transport’s strategic priorities, to facilitate transparent, confident and effective decision-making.

 

As a newly-created role the key short to medium term priorities will be to:

 

  • Drive/ lead/ or support innovative best practice governance initiatives for Financial and Investment management. Establish and then manage the regular review of governance policy and processes including analysing existing processes, recommending and implementing changes, documenting new procedures to support compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality best practice financial management and investment governance initiatives and outcomes.

About you

 

As a Governance Manager you will have:

 

  • A well-developed  understanding and experience of governance, policy development and systems, and their application within a large and complex organisation
  • A suitable tertiary qualification in your discipline 
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders, facilitate governance and/or other key management processes to achieve positive organisational outcomes
  • Experience working in a Government agency or a large complex organisation

 

Salary and Benefits

 

The salary for this position is Grade 9A ($138,670) – 9E ($155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
