In this role, you'll:


Have a great opportunity working on one of the most known and respected infrastructure in Australia and be part of a team that maintains and looks after the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. You will be required to supervise a small group of staff to carry out similar or related processes safely. The role may be required to inspect preparation and painting work to ensure that it meets quality standards. You will undertake a range of functions relating to maintaining timber, steel or concrete bridges, including assisting other trades.
 
You will also contribute towards the following responsibilities:
•  Perform routine and complex labouring/ manual tasks, including the safe use of a range of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools
•  Guide team members, including apprentices/ trainees and solve routine problems and collaborate with supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to minimise risks
• Understand and maintain knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and procedures

About you


The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a similar heavy industrial environment. Demonstrated experience to perform routine servicing and maintenance on plant and equipment such as compressors, gantries, dust extractors and vehicles and prepare surfaces by hand or power tools and abrasive blasting will be highly regarded. You will also have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, have exceptional communication skills and have a passion for workplace health & safety.

Essential requirements also include:
•  Certificate 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent/superseded qualifications if the applicant has relevant experience and meets licencing requirements.
•  Current Construction Industry White Card
•  Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver's license
•  Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.

This position is a permanent full time position working a 38-hour week, 9-day fortnight and you may be required to work outside regular working hours occasionally. You will have also have opportunities for further training and career development. The salary for this position is Grade 4 Sydney Harbour Bridge Worker ($1,441.50) per week plus superannuation. Further to basic salary other allowances will be paid to this position:
Sydney Harbour Bridge allowance $235.61 per week ($12,251 per year )
Lead paint removal allowance $2.79 per hour (when you perform relevant tasks)
