About Finance and Investment


Finance and Investment Division (FID) is a trusted advisor to the Transport cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $72 billion infrastructure program.

We provide best in class financial services to support decision-making on transport services, infrastructure investment and delivery. FID plays a critical role in project planning and funding, enterprise planning and financial management and control.

The opportunity - 2 Years Fixed Term 


Right now we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Assurance Analyst to join our team. The Senior Assurance Analyst is responsible for conducting independent assessment of proposed investment by applying the TfNSW portfolio wide assurance and review frameworks, processes and policies. The Senior Assurance Analyst also provides inputs to the development of assurance framework that improves program / project planning, development and delivery and provides confidence to Transport executives and sponsors about the integrity and consistency of information upon which investment decisions are based.


Key accountabilities:


  •  Conducts investment assurance reviews for investment projects and programs and provide assurance advisory and reporting
  • Provides inputs to the development of robust investment assurance frameworks and standards consistent with the Infrastructure Investor Assurance Framework for Transport cluster-wide application
  • Develops assurance action plans for implementation by the assurance team, project teams in TfNSW and transport agency and Infrastructure NSW (INSW).
  • Provides assurance through quality checks on business cases
  • Conduct risk assessment for project tiering for assurance process of roads projects
  • Coordinate the preparation of responses to queries relating to the assurance reviews of programs and projects
  • Provide high quality, timely and professional briefings, expert advice and recommendations on assurance matters
  • Develop innovative and informed responses to emerging assurance issues in transport.
  • Work in close collaboration with the other Branch and Divisional managers, and operating entities to contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and decision making.
  • Forge close relationships with INSW counterpart in the provision of the investment assurance reviews.


The role reports to Director Portfolio & Investment Assurance.

About you


Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, planning, transport economics, information management or related data analytical discipline combined with skills and experience in the management and implementation of project assurance activities.

You communicate clearly, actively listen, and respond with understanding and respect whilst working collaboratively with others, valuing their contribution.

You will be ethical and professional, and uphold and promote the public sector values as well as exhibiting the ability to achieve results through the efficient use of resources and commitment to quality outcomes.



Salary and Benefits


The salary for this position is Grade 8A, $120,423 – 8E $134,872 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
