In this role, you'll:


Assist the Engineering Team in the delivery of maintenance and construction projects as well as monitoring and reporting project progress to ensure the delivery of projects as per the agreed milestone and cost.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

• Managing the project and delivery process including the delivery of both direct control and contract works to ensure nominated road, bridge, or traffic infrastructure and/or maintenance projects are developed and delivered to agreed time, cost, quality and scope requirements.

• Managing the project expenses, procuring and overseeing service providers, and monitoring and reviewing ongoing work programs to make effective use of resources and deliver agreed objectives.

• Implementing effective cost management systems to ensure effective financial management of projects.

• Implementing appropriate procedures, guidelines, processes and practices, in collaboration with TfNSW specialists, to deliver a high level of workplace health and safety and environmental management on projects and contracts.

• Managing professional service contractors and internal service providers by preparing documentation, convening regular progress meetings, and managing deliverables to ensure that specified outcomes are achieved.

The position involves project development and delivery, site work and travel across the Murray Riverina region and at times you will be required to work away from home in order to deliver remote projects.

Transport has flexible working arrangements in place, however as this is a delivery focused role responsible for leading teams you will need to be available to work from other locations within the region.

This is a fixed term full time role (up to 3 October 2025) located at Narrandera.

We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a reasonable distance from your identified Headquarters/depot.

About you


To be considered for this role you will have tertiary qualifications in civil/structural engineering and have experience in the design, construction, inspection and/or maintenance of pavement, road and/or earthworks infrastructure.

You have experience in the preparation of competitive and accurate estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs and WH&S management plans, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans for assigned projects.

You have experience in managing a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction and maintenance projects.

You will be a proactive analytical thinker and possess high level communication skills. The ability to astutely manage time and work collaboratively and closely with stakeholders to deliver is paramount, as is your dedicated commitment to safety and quality.

You have a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver licence and be willing to travel on occasion and work outside normal working hours.
