In this role, you'll:


Lead the development and management of traffic engineering standards, ensuring technical policies, guidelines, and frameworks remain contemporary, efficient, and aligned with best practices in road safety, traffic management, active modes and road network planning & management, and key frameworks, including Movement and Place, Towards Zero, and Net Zero & Climate Change.

You will collaborate with internal teams and industry partners to assess and improve existing technical standards, providing expert advice and tailored solutions to meet business needs. By fostering a learning environment and promoting technical capability, you will contribute to the ongoing development of traffic engineering expertise within Transport for NSW.

About you


Your tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, combined with strong technical expertise in traffic engineering, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, will see you excel in delivering best-practice traffic management solutions.

You have experience working across engineering, policy, or infrastructure sectors, allowing you to analyse complex problems, develop innovative standards, and provide expert advice to internal stakeholders. You’re recognised as a strategic thinker and problem-solver, skilled at managing technical workflows, assessing industry trends, and ensuring compliance with evolving traffic engineering standards.

Your ability to prioritise competing demands, develop technical policies and guidelines, and deliver high-quality technical documentation in a fast-paced environment will help drive efficiency and innovation in traffic management.
