In this role, you'll:
Join our Network Management team, within the Sydney Integration and Place branch, where you will be responsible for leading network and road safety investigations and technical assessments, providing advice, program management and high-level representation in forums such as council traffic committees, land use meetings and road safety initiatives.
 
You will play a significant role in actively leading, influencing and promoting positive safety outcomes for road and traffic infrastructure projects for the ultimate benefit of communities in the Sydney region.


You will be involved in:

  • Leading and managing a team of technical staff and contractors to ensure that safety and traffic issues are investigated, and effective solutions are developed and implemented in accordance with standards to provided a safe road environment
  • Reviewing and endorsing technical traffic signal design plans, traffic management plans and parking strategies submitted by internal transport staff, private developers and Local Councils to ensure a balanced movement and place outcome is delivered with a focus on safety across the road network.
  • Management of allocated road safety and traffic management programs and projects including consultation with councils and stakeholders and managing delivery of programs
  • Providing senior support in the development and application of state-wide network management procedures and contributing to quality audits and reviews of procedures
  • Providing expert network management advice within Transport for NSW and to councils through Traffic and Development Committees.


This is a temporary, full time position up to 12 months duration, and offers hybrid working from our Paramatta office.

About you
You are an experienced leader with strong technical expertise in engineering traffic design, road safety, policy and guidelines and speed management. You have demonstrated ability in applying this expertise to the development and delivery of road safety programs, and in partnering with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including all levels of government from technical staff to Mayors and Members of Parliament, various community interest groups, Police and relevant sector agencies and consultants.

You will be a politically sensitive communicator and have the ability to deliver sound advice as an SME in your field. You can astutely manage time, delegate and work collaboratively and closely with other parts of the division.

You will also possess strong leadership skills in developing staff by means of training, professional mentoring and support.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field will be highly regarded, although not essential.
