About the team

 

The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. The Development Branch within the Infrastructure and Place division is responsible for the development of transport and place solutions that facilitate broader economic, social and environmental outcomes.

 

 

The opportunity

 

Due to the unprecedented scale of investment in the Transport for NSW Future Transport strategy we have a number exciting opportunity for Project Development Manager to join our Western Parklands Infrastructure Development team. 

 

Project Development Managers are a critical part of the development team. This role is a lead position within the team and is responsible for leading major project development through infrastructure design, project business cases and environmental approvals, helping Transport for NSW deliver on our customers’ needs.

 

What you will be involved in: Based in Parramatta, you will manage an interdisciplinary project team of specialist and support staff to develop projects for our customers on behalf of our client.

 

  • Deliver detailed project scoping and project development activities to ensure major infrastructure projects meet objectives.
  • Monitor design and other work quality completed by professional service contractors or internal service providers to ensure it meets agreed criteria, benefits and user requirements.
  • Manage an interdisciplinary project team including specialist and support staff. The role reporting lines vary depending on the nature of the projects and region/location of the role.
  • Ensure project resources are procured cost-effectively and outputs are implemented to agreed time, cost, quality and health & safety requirements and are consistent with operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Manage project environmental impact assessment preparation including Review of Environmental Factors (REF) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to ensure compliance with legislation
  • Develop and implement community engagement plans to ensure effective stakeholder consultation in project development phases.
  • Provide expert advice on major infrastructure development projects to ensure clients, stakeholders and staff understand project details and limitations

About you

 

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in planning, engineering, project management or a related discipline. With a proven project management background in developing large multi-disciplinary, complex infrastructure road and bridge projects, whilst managing and leading multidisciplinary teams.

 

 

Essential requirements

 

  • Tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in planning, civil engineering, project management or related discipline.
  • Experience in managing complex infrastructure project development such as road, bridge and/or tunnel projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate environmental assessment delivery and assess road concept designs.
  • It is a prerequisite that applicants possess a current motor vehicle driver licence.
  • The successful applicant may be required to work outside normal working hours or to travel on occasion.

 

 

Salary and Benefits
