The Division

 

The Customer Strategy & Technology division is focused on creating the future of mobility in NSW and shaping a world-leading transport system for our customers and communities.


The Opportunity

 

The Systems Officer will be responsible to receive assigned computer system incidents and service requests. You will ensure that all requests are resolved as quickly as possible in accordance with service level agreements and undertake routine maintenance tasks.

 

What you will be involved in

 

Ensure the computer systems environment operates effectively by:

 

  • Prompt response and resolution to incidents and service requests
  • Preparing work instructions and knowledge base documentation for support resolution
  • Proactive customer service ensuring communications during resolution of incident.
  • Configuration and installation of computer hardware (Physical & Virtual)
  • Monitoring system availability and performance
  • Provide the service desk with specific, relevant and timely communications about all incidents and service requests assigned to the role to inform and ensure communication flow
  • Focus on good customer service by proactively resolving incidents and service requests while ensuring that details of the incident or service request are logged with the service desk

 

About you

 

  • Demonstrated experience working within a complex infrastructure and hosting technology environment, including administration of the following technologies:
  • OS Skills: Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows servers (server builds, configuration, performance monitoring and preventative maintenance)
  • Virtualisation: System administration in VMWare Virtualisation (vCenter and ESXi)
  • Directory Services: Experience with managing Microsoft Active Directory and associated services (DNS, Group Policy Management)
  • Storage: Managing storage presented from enterprise SAN environment to physical and virtual servers
  • Incident Management: Strong troubleshooting and
  • Request Fulfilment: Performing Virtual Linux and Windows build tasks, fulfilling access requests and application installations.

 

Essential requirements,

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel within and outside of the Sydney Metropolitan area.
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours on occasions and be part of a call out roster to provide 24 x 7 support to System Operations.

Salary and Benefits 

 

The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 7($106,086 - $118,816) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading. This role has a degree of flexibility, where Transport encourages hybrid ways of working across home and our offices.
