In this role, you'll:


You will be responsible for directly engaging and educating the boating community on matters regarding safe boating, boating legislation and on-water activities. You will seek opportunities to engage with the boating public, at boat ramps, in schools, clubs, community events boat shows. The Rover will support and work across Greater Sydney.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Represent NSW Maritime when engaging with the boating community
• Identify opportunities to educate the boating community and support the development and implementation of Boating Safety Education plans
• Identify boating safety issues
• Facilitate and deliver presentations and information sessions to boating audiences
• Assist with compliance campaigns, management of aquatic activities, audits and incident management
 


About you


You are passionate about using education, collaboration and encouragement to help others and influence positive behaviour.  Ideally, you will have adept knowledge and understanding of NSW boating legislation and waterway activities within Greater Sydney.  You have on water experience and pride yourself on your ability to build and maintain working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

You can demonstrate the ability and intuition to plan and deliver tasks with a focus on quality, impact and alignment with strategic operational goals.  You are comfortable delivering community education through presentations and information sessions to recreational boaters and large audiences. You feel excited about representing Transport for NSW at numerous events and locations such as boat ramps, schools, community centres and boat shows. You are a proactive and curious self-starter with a motivation to reach out and support our customers. Please note, to be considered for this role you will need to hold:

•  Current NSW Drivers Licence
•  Senior First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain within three months
•  Current NSW Boating Licence or ability to obtain within three months
•  A valid, professional Working with Children Check

The salary for this position is MA5A - $109,990 per annum plus superannuation. The role will be located in Rozelle and is NOT a Hybrid+ arrangement. No costs, allowances or exceptions to the TfNSW vehicle policy will be provided to staff in relation to travel to and from Rozelle to conduct the duties of the role. View role desciption here.
