In this role, you'll:


Lead one of our construction teams, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of maintenance tasks for road projects based in the Tamworth region.
 
Your role will also include:

 

  • Working collaboratively with your crew to resolve issues and find the best solution to problems that may arise.
  • Managing any conflict between team members or related external stakeholders.
  • Mentoring and leading by example when providing on the job training to team members in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • safety remaining front and centre when performing daily activities and all environmental, quality controls are implemented on site.
  • Ensuring scheduled maintenance activities are completed within the desired timeframes and within budget in accordance with TfNSW specifications and operating procedures.

 
This role is based in Tamworth however, candidates based in Glen Innes will be considered.

About you


We’re seeking a proactive and organised leader with extended knowledge and experience in a civil construction environment and enjoys working with a variety of people.
 
You will have strong leadership skills leading and developing a team.
 
You will be an excellent communicator with great negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
 
You will have proven ability to follow appropriate safe working procedures and resolve routine problems independently.
 
We are also looking at applicants who can build strong working relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
 


Essential criteria:

 

  • Traffic Control certification (Implement Traffic Control Plan and Prepare Work Zone)
  • A valid unrestricted NSW Driver's licence
  • Experience operating at a Road Worker Grade 3 level
  • Sound experience using internal reporting systems
  • Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements.


A Truck Licence Medium Rigid Class or higher would be an advantage but not essential
