Join our new Commercial and Energy Management team that is focused on making a positive and lasting impact.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead the development and implementation of energy strategies that align with Transport for NSW’s sustainability goals, focusing on renewable energy adoption.
- Oversee energy efficiency initiatives to reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices.
- Manage energy contracts to ensure, value for money and alignment with best practice commercial outcomes.
- Support the delivery of energy related projects supporting the energy transition across all Transport modes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to drive innovation and ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with energy and sustainability initiatives, adhering to policies and regulations.
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership for energy projects with respect to the evolving commercial landscape in energy markets.
- Foster and lead a high-performing team, with a focus on engagement and empowerment.

About you
You’re passionate about leading positive change and enjoy being part of a fast-paced driven team.
You have a deep understanding of energy management, sustainability, and renewable energy projects.
You have extensive experience in leading high value, complex procurement activities and managing relationships with senior stakeholders to achieve outstanding results.
Collaboration will be key to your success in this role, you’re an expert communicator and will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective relationships and partnerships by building and maintaining public and industry stakeholder confidence across projects.
Your track record demonstrates your ability to negotiate, influence and drive innovative energy solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
You excel in developing high performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Your expertise extends to risk management, strategic planning and delivery of measurable outcomes aligned with organisational goals.
This is a unique opportunity to manage a new team - we are looking for applicants with a passion for mentoring, knowledge sharing and expertise to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
It is essential that you hold relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, project management, procurement, business, engineering or equivalent experience or a related field.
