In this role, you'll:
Join our Planning, Integration and Passenger division which is responsible for representing the voice of the customer to drive community outcomes and make investment decisions.
Reporting to the Executive Director Statewide Outcomes, you will be a contributor to our newly established Branch Leadership Team. In this critical role as the Director Land Use Outcomes you will be responsible for leading Transport for NSW’s interface with key infrastructure and planning agencies and ensuring transport for NSW is connected to, influencing and aligning with key state planning programs for land use, and infrastructure as well as housing and industrial lands.
You will be the interface between the branch and the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure’s (DPHI) strategic land use planning function and work in an agile manner to build expert and expand the planning development teams.
You will lead a team in the development of the transport response to land use plans for NSW which is aligned with the NSW Government’s Transport strategy.
Some of your areas of focus in the role will be:
• Leading the future development and delivery of strategic and transport, property, and land use plans to optimise outcomes for NSW
• Embedding a collaborative culture across government that enables co-design of strategic plans, and involves early engagement with stakeholders from the community, industry, transport operators, land use and infrastructure agencies.
• Providing government with strategic advice on investment priorities including integrated, outcomes-based business cases for city shaping and state shaping transport initiatives.
• Acting as a thought leader, remaining abreast of current and emerging planning issues and trends, including domestic and international best practice.

About you
•You are a strategic and influential thinker with a focus on outcomes
•You have experience running a function that drives strategic and operational initiatives
•You understand and have experience in understanding the impact that land use planning has on transport and can influence and coordinate responses to future plans
•You can develop data-driven insights to inform evidence-based decision-making, ensuring that transport infrastructure investments are strategically planned to enhance accessibility, connectivity, and long-term economic growth in alignment with the plans for land use change
•You have strong experience building a team and growing team maturity and capability
