In this role:
As part of the Communication & Workplaces enabling division, you will report to the Executive Director Culture & Capability and be an integral part of our newly established Branch Leadership Team.
In this critical role you will ensure we build partnerships and relationships with the Deputy Secretary, the Transport Executive cohort and the divisional and agency leadership teams to ensure Transport for NSW has a robust pipeline of work ready and capable people through the implementation of leadership, talent and capability development strategies.
You and your team will shape the strategic direction and deliver organisational solutions enterprise wide for talent management, leadership & capability development, performance, career, mobility and professional capabilities.
Areas of strong focus will include:
- Utilising our workforce architecture to build visible career pathways for key workforce segments.
- Leading, refining and delivering the performance framework.
- Manage the Transport Cadets, Graduate and Aboriginal employment programs.
- Identify enterprise wide priority learning and capability needs, and design solutions to meet these needs.
- Uplift management capability through management and frontline leadership development.
- Management of talent review processes and succession planning.
- Leading approach to performance and development through continuous coaching conversations

About you
You are a tertiary qualified human resources practitioner with a background in leadership development, learning and development, talent management or organisational psychology looking for an opportunity to apply your experiences to contribute to organisational success through the development of people in a large and complex organisation.
To do this you:
- Are a strategic thinker and outcomes focused.
- Understand how to get things done in a government setting.
- Bring deep experience in capability development and a leadership development background.
- Strong experience working in talent management and career development.
- Have demonstrated experience in change management and uplifting organisational capability.
- Extensive experience leading large teams, and growing team maturity and capability.
- Will possess strong commercial acumen and have experience designing and implementing business strategies, plans, and programs to drive people transformation.
- Have strong experience dealing with executive stakeholders and the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and types of audiences.
