In this role:

 

You will be working as part of the Transport for NSW’s Legal & Governance branch (which reports to the Transport Secretary) team sitting within the specialist Projects, Development and Planning team working collaboratively across the organisation, partnering to provide critical legal advice and support for sensitive and complex legal matters to support the operations of Transport for NSW and other agencies in the transport portfolio.

 

This Lawyer position is will see you manage a diverse range of property and interface matters, including land access issues, sale contracts and other acquisition documents, leases, licences, easements, and various project interface deeds and agreements for Sydney Trains, Transport Asset Manager for New South Wales, NSW Trains and Transport for NSW.

 

You will also provide legal support and research services on relevant areas of law to support the business and operations of Transport for NSW, Transport Asset Manager, Sydney Trains and NSW TrainsLink. The role focuses on project support both in delivery and operations and requires an ability to manage a wide range of matters and stakeholders.

About you

 

You are a lawyer with a minimum of 2 year post qualifications experience, ideally in property law, inhouse or in a private practice. You will also hold a practising certificate in NSW. Some knowledge of construction law and/or planning and environment law or working on public infrastructure projects would be advantageous.

 

You are a resourceful person with a proactive working style, who is able to work autonomously and as part of a team. You will have a passion for law and enjoy working on a diverse range of matters. You will also enjoy working and collaborating as part of a hardworking and friendly team.

 

You will have outstanding communication skills and be able to successfully manage diverse stakeholders. You will also have excellent written and drafting skills.
