The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manager Community Engagement to join the Community and Place branch on a fixed-term basis till June 2024. Community and Place’s purpose is to lead engagement with NSW regional communities and stakeholders supporting integrated transport outcomes. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting teams and branches within Regional and Outer Metropolitan Division to deliver communication and community engagement initiatives to regional customers while working in conjunction with the Fast Rail leadership team to ensure alignment with Transport for NSW’s business priorities. 

 

What you will be involved in

 

  • Provide specialist advice and support on communication and engagement community and stakeholder issues, risks and opportunities and appropriate management strategies to deliver business objectives.

  • Ensure all projects or programs have communication and engagement strategies, plans and budget in place developed in partnership with project leaders and relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Develop communications collateral including website content, presentations, stakeholder collateral, speaking notes, media releases, social media content, program specific materials

  • Develop and implement innovative customer-centred engagement tools to ensure stakeholders are consulted at the appropriate level and time, are provided with up to date information, and have a clear understanding of the project’s objectives and benefits.

 

 

About You 

This role requires an individual with a demonstrated commitment to the customer, understanding that our customers are at the front and centre of everything we do. You will display an adaptable and agile approach and an ability to navigate complex problems, be able to forward plan and provide strategic direction to foresee and manage future issues before they arise. 


A successful candidate might have prior experience in communications, public relations, marketing (or other relevant disciplines) coupled with excellent communication skills and thrive on building partnerships with stakeholders. Ideally with demonstrated capability in providing effective oversight and coordination across a broad and complex program to ensure delivery aligns with TfNSW and cross-government priorities, targets and outcomes.

 

One will have experience managing strategic project/program elements and will drive a high-performance culture across the business while collaborating with key stakeholders across organisational boundaries. Your resilience will see you thrive in an ever-changing politically sensitive landscape. As an innovative thinker who is detail-focused and can synthesise project desirables and customer needs.
