You know that to make a meaningful contribution there needs to be connection and collaboration across the teams. Here’s your opportunity to help our people make a big impact.

In this role, you'll:

Work as part of our Coordinator General division within the Bus Transformation Branch to create job structures and develop targeted solutions to build effective career pathways which address and overcome industry obstacles and challenges relating to the bus operations across the state of NSW.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Bus Training and Workforce Strategy, this critical role requires an experienced Workforce Planning professional to partner with internal and external stakeholders to propose amendments to industrial frameworks and enhance employee incentives.

Additionally, you will work with unions and bus operators to identify barriers to entry for people joining the bus industry and execute research and engage with stakeholders to propose effective solutions to address and overcome these barriers. In this role you will explore and develop role descriptions, structures and capability frameworks that drive organisational strategy and present a more attractive proposition to prospective and current employees.

This newly created role will see you build relationships with leaders across Transport and the wider bus industry, helping map current and future state processes with a focus on organisational design and change.

This is a fixed term full time position until September 2026 in a hybrid working model with flexibility to work in our Elizabeth Street office in Sydney CBD as well as spending time in Sydney or regional areas as appropriate.

About you

This role requires a high degree of collaboration and will see you use your strong stakeholder engagement skills to help deliver positive business outcomes and develop/maintain strong relationships with a wider range of internal and external stakeholders.

Solid experience in workforce planning (preferably in a bus environment), however we will consider other similar operational organisations that involve passenger services, freight, logistics or heavy vehicles. The ability to develop future-state organisational structures and functional models aligned with industry operating model principles and initiatives.

Experience overseeing the creation of role descriptions, job evaluations, and ensuring compliance and consistency across the organisation.
