In this role, you'll:
In this role, you'll be working in the Employment, Safety & Liability team, where you will provide expert legal advice and manage legal claims and litigation on a diverse range of employment (including industrial) and safety matters to support the business and operations of Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink.

 

This will include working collaboratively with other members in the team and internal clients, and providing advice and legal support on such matters as conduct issues, unfair dismissal claims, obligations under safety legislation, discrimination claims, industrial matters, and interpretation of legislation and industrial instruments.

About you
You are an experienced Employment and/or Safety Lawyer who has tertiary qualifications in law,   holds a practising certificate in NSW and has 5 plus years relevant post qualification experience.

 

You will have advanced written communication skills and be able to draft succinct and well structured documents. You will also have excellent verbal communication and stakeholder management skills and be able to convey technical legal concepts clearly.
 

You will have exceptional time management skills and be able to manage a demanding workload with competing priorities. You are able to work collaboratively with other team members, and closely with internal clients and project teams to provide solutions focused legal support.
 

Experience in providing legal advice and support on industrial bargaining and negotiation of industrial instruments in either the State or Federal system is desirable.
