Senior Manager Legal (Temporary Opportunity up to 36 months)
Sydney, NSW, AU, 2020
You’re agile, keen and open to meaningful work and opportunities that come your way.
You've been looking for an opportunity to influence policies, initiatives, and projects that can improve the lives of millions of people.
In this role, you'll:
Be part of TfNSW’s Legal and Governance branch (in the Commercial, Technology and Property Legal team). With close to 100 lawyers spread across 4 legal teams, we are one of the largest inhouse government legal departments in NSW.
In this role, you will provide senior in-house legal support in connection with TfNSW’s procurement, negotiation and management of complex bus passenger services contracts. You will also be working closely with TfNSW’s Battery Electric Buses program, a multi-billion dollar program that is transitioning the state’s 8,000 plus diesel and natural gas public transport buses to battery electric technology. The program involves TfNSW’s procurement of battery electric buses and the negotiation of contractual arrangements with bus operators to support the installation of charging infrastructure at bus depots.
You will be responsible for providing legal support in respect of:
- TfNSW’s management and negotiation of complex passenger service contracts for bus services in NSW;
- TfNSW’s procurement of new buses, as part of transitioning the state’s 8,000 plus diesel and natural gas buses to battery electric bus technology;
- TfNSW’s delivery of complex bus depot infrastructure as part of TfNSW’s Battery Electric Bus program, including advising, drafting, negotiating and amending a complex ecosystem of commercial contracts relating to bus fleet, operations, construction and technology; and
- Contract management support as part of transport operations and after project delivery.
Your legal work will assist with NSW’s transition to zero emissions as part of a strategically important and technically challenging program of work.
This is a 3 year Fixed Term position.
