Senior Manager Ministerial Liaison & Briefings

In this role, you’ll:

• Drive a highly engaged and productive relationship between Transport and our portfolio Ministerial Offices by identifying and addressing emerging issues and risks which the Executive will need to respond to and collaborate to develop and provide solutions, leveraging knowledge of workings of government and communication between all parties.
• Undertake analysis of complex issues, integration and synthesis of information from a range of internal and external sources to provide strategic, expert and timely advice which draws out sensitive matters, addressing strategic and tactical issues and offering options.
• Streamline and improve the way we manage requests for information from Ministerial Offices by delivering an end to end, value add services around briefings, speech writing, issues management, and various government meetings.
• Facilitate positive, cooperative, and professional relationships between Ministerial staff and Department Support supporting the effective functioning of the Ministerial Officers and their interaction with the Transport.
• Lead the identification and investigation of strategic opportunities for changes and enhancements in delivery of internal functions, existing operational programs and services, and development of additional services, to achieve continuous improvement in outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
• Act as a thought leader, remaining abreast of current and emerging issues and trends, including domestic and international best practice, innovative approaches, and opportunities to support the achievement of business object

About you

You’re an experienced professional with solid understanding of government operations, and a proven ability to navigate complex issues in a high-pressure environment. With exceptional organisational, prioritisation and engagement skills, you thrive on delivering for the greater good. You excel at building and maintaining collaborative relationships with senior leaders, government agencies and Ministerial Offices.

Your ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable advice ensures timely and impactful outcomes. With a focus on leadership, you inspire teams to deliver excellence, empowering them to anticipate stakeholder needs and drive continuous improvement. Experience across government relations, policy or legal will be highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience are essential.
