In this role, you'll:
Join the Safety, Policy, Environment and Regulation division within the Transport Policy Branch who are working to give freight a louder voice by raising the profile of freight as a fundamental customer of the transport system to enable the safe, productive and sustainable movement of goods.
You will join a very agile and inclusive team leading a broad program of freight policy development and regulatory reform and will undertake research, analysis and stakeholder engagement to support evidence-based policy decisions.
As part of a highly matrixed team, you will coordinate and undertake the development and implementation of a range of policy initiatives and reforms related to freight and make a meaningful contribution to the delivery of policy commitments that support improved freight outcomes for NSW.
Research, analyse and review complex policy issues, identify emerging issues, develop evidence-based options, and recommend solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks.
Work across the cluster and with industry stakeholders to identify needs, address gaps and develop policy options and solutions to keep goods moving across NSW.
You will have the opportunity to work from any Transport office, including, but not limited to, Sydney CBD, Parramatta, Macquarie Park, Newcastle or Wollongong.
This role is initially offered as a fixed term contract until 15/05/26.
About you

You are known for being a great communicator and collaborator who can actively engage and work to understand unique stakeholder expectations across multiple business areas.
You are results-oriented and have proven ability managing competing priorities with a strong understanding of Public policy and its framework.
You have sound experience providing solutions to difficult issues through researching and analysing concepts, providing evidence-based arguments to justify the outcomes.
It is advantageous but not essential for good project management skills. We are open to further developing the skills and talent for the right candidate.
