In this role, you'll:


Acting as the SME for the Intercity Standards team for competency, rules and regulations, you will lead and manage a high performing team of 12 Standards Officers who are spread across the Intercity Network. You will be responsible for the performance and output of the team, ensuring Intercity Train Crew and Station Staff are provided with reliable, accurate and relevant competency training, whilst identifying and implementing improvements across both the Standards Team and Intercity Services Branch.


You will ensure an enhanced standard across safety and operational performance to support Intercity Operations, maintaining the standard of performance from Train Crew and Station Staff to meet competencies and comply with regulatory requirements while forming efficient working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
 
You will provide assurance to Senior Management on Competency Training, Assessments and others requirements through regular reporting and supporting transformational change within the Intercity Services Branch.
 
This is a permanent full-time position based at our 477 Pitt Street office.

About you


• You must have proven experience managing a team - Provide sound and reliable advice; manage expectations, resolve and provide solutions to issues, negotiate outcomes and timeframes
• Must have current Train Crew Competency Qualification
• Experience in operational safety with an understanding of the Rail Safety Act, the WHS Act and other legislative requirements
