In this role, you'll:


Be based in Albury  working as part of a team delivering complex compliance activities to enforce relevant legislation within the point-to-point transport industry.


This role will see you work with industry to ensure compliance and implement complex compliance activity plans in partnership with other enforcement agencies to enforce relevant legislation in relation to public passenger vehicles carrying less than 12 passengers.


This position has a focus in the Albury region, but there may be opportunities to travel throughout NSW for varying durations of time both planned and at short notice to undertake inspections ensuring adherence to the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016. After a period of training Inspectors are authorised to issue penalty infringement notices and compliance notices.


You will lead a Team of Inspectors reporting to the Regional Inspections Manager however on a day-to-day basis you will be working with one other team member.


Please note that this is a full-time temporary opportunity until 30 June 2025.


This role has been specifically located at Albury for the duration of this temporary period to undertake a project in this area.

About you:


Your excellent stakeholder management and strong communication skills and your understanding of legislation will enable you to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders within the community including the public, drivers and service providers who range from sole traders to multinational organisations. These skills formed while working in regulatory and compliance sectors will see you excel in the tasks required of this role.

 

You will bring your ability to produce high quality evidence-based reports leading to the identification of non-compliance and recommendations relating to these. 


You're recognised as a leader and team player who can work autonomously, you are an excellent communicator with stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to” think on your feet”, be adaptable and have strong communication and conflict resolution skills.


 Your previous experience working in a regulatory or compliance environment, ideally in a government organisation or the transport industry is highly valued.
