In this role, you'll:
In this role you will lead a team that undertakes specialist inspections of earthmoving and construction plant, trucks and equipment across Regional NSW. The inspections and audits will focus on safety, compliance and the operational condition of TfNSW owned, leased and hired equipment that are engaged on TfNSW worksites across all of NSW. Your time will be split between leading and coordinating the team and conducting your own inspections and audits.
You may also be responsible for managing and ensuring the procurement of new fleet assets to ensure they comply with TfNSW specifications and safety requirements, providing technical advice on Fleet Asset requirements, providing technical expertise during the investigation of incidents and root cause analysis of major repairs, and assisting Managers and Engineers with the administration of the Transport agency truck and plant leasing contracts.
This is a permanent full-time role within a team located in Yennora, however the role may be based from a TfNSW regional location in NSW. Please note the role includes a combination of office and field work requiring extensive travel to various parts of NSW and living away from home, including attending meetings in Sydney on occasion.

About you
To be considered for this role you’ll have extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance and inspection of earthmoving plant, trucks and equipment. You’ll also bring extensive knowledge of WHS, Environmental and Road Transport and Registration requirements relevant to vehicles, plant and equipment.
Your demonstrated ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, workshop manuals and hydraulic system diagrams will be clearly evident and your well-developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills and a proven ability to foster positive, collaborative and constructive relationships will ensure your success.
It is essential that you have a minimum current Class MR motor vehicle driver’s licence as well as a trade qualification with relevant post trade experience.
Leadership experience is highly desirable.
