In this role, you'll be taking on a full-time permanent role within the day of operations rostering team.
As a rostering officer in a team of nine, you will be part of a team that is responsible for rostering for critical operational employees that help keep the Sydney Trains rail network running.
As part of the rostering team, you will have responsibility for ensuring that changes to the roster are made in a timely and accurate manner, and maintaining fortnightly rosters ensuring leave, training, and other ad-hoc requirements are facilitated while balancing operational requirements.
You will also be responsible for organising shift coverage to ensure adequate staffing across a wide range of roles and operational responsibilities.
Since this is a relief role supporting the other rostering officers in the day of operations team, it will be a mix of Monday to Friday work and shift work, including working shifts in a 24x7 environment, based on operational requirements within the rostering team.
This role based at the Rail Operations Control Centre in Alexandria, and the team currently work in a Hybrid working environment with 3 days per week in the office. This is subject to change as per the organisation policies.

About you
You are an autonomous operator, who is resilient and is comfortable handling high volume of work, including inbound and outbound calls and emails, under high pressure situations.
You are a collaborator by nature and possess very good stakeholder engagement skills as you will be liaising with stakeholders across levels, including Rail Operations frontline employees and Senior management. You possess good communication skills and are open to working flexibly in a 24x7 environment.
Ideally you have previous rostering experience, preferably working with the Microster rostering system, you will also have a good understanding of MS Excel, with experience in Genesys phone system and Salesforce also desired.
